Reporting
Elopak published its first environmental report in 2008/2009. This is an externally audited report, covering all key aspects of the company’s environmental impacts.
Although not yet covering all aspects of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) requirements, Elopak’s reporting is fully aligned with the GRI reporting principles.
2008 was the baseline year for target setting and identification of prioritised areas for improvement. Current reporting, as well as the reporting for the next couple of years, will be done against this baseline.
Elopak has divided its environmental activities into three categories, which is also reflected in the reporting structure:
- Our Company: Everything connected to our operations. These are internal factors, which we fully control and manage, such as energy consumption, manufacturing practices, logistics, etc.
- Our Products: The full life-cycle of the beverage carton, including sourcing of raw materials, manufacturing, products properties, transportation, waste and recycling.
- Our Raw Materials: The traceable sourcing of raw materials from sustainable sources.
