IT Technician

PURPOSE

Elopak is currently building a new, state of the art manufacturing facility and we are seeking a versatile, motivated IT professional to join our team in November 2024! This person plays a crucial role in assisting the installation of all new equipment and providing technical support and assistance to end-users within our organization, as well as in our MES environment. This role is responsible for resolving technical issues, answering inquiries, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and equipment in both office and production environments.

This role serves as the first point of contact for IT-related problems and strives to provide effective solutions while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. This role is also the first in a longer-term plan of growing the IT team in the Region of the Americas.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

As part of the Global IT team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams from our different locations around North America and Europe. The role of Onsite IT Technician will provide on-site support and service to the plant, in addition to implementing system upgrades, expansions, and enhancements. This role will be the on-site representative for the Global IT team, acting as the liaison between the departments to ensure alignment and successful service delivery and project execution. This role requires someone with a dynamic, flexible mindset, who can manage their time and priorities in a demanding environment.

 

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

· Install hardware and software for both end-users and IT infrastructure.

· Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues across Mac and Windows-based computers, printers, software applications, mobile devices, cloud applications, and network connectivity such as VPN and Wi-Fi.

· Provide professional and courteous support to users by understanding issues, troubleshooting, and resolving problems efficiently and effectively.

· Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Manufacturing Executing System (MES) and related automation technologies in diagnosing and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions to production. · Identify recurring issues and work with IT teams to prevent future incidents.

System Optimization and Performance Monitoring

· Monitor the performance of and provide onsite support for MES systems and automated production environments.

· Implement solutions to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.

IT Service Portal:

· Support users in creating IT support tickets, IT service requests and to use self-help articles through the Elopak IT Service Portal. · Provide step-by-step instructions and guidance to end-users for self-service problem resolution when appropriate. Documentation and Training

· Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

· Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on the use of corporate software platforms and related technologies, fostering adoption and proficiency across the organization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum 3 year of experience in an IT/customer support role

· Extensive hands-on knowledge of IT hardware, software, and operating systems

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Problem-solving abilities and patience in assisting end-users

· Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

· A customer-centric approach with a strong commitment to user satisfaction

· Knowledge of ITIL standards is an advantage
